Praise: A Small Yet Powerful Catalyst

Praise: A Small Yet Powerful Catalyst

By Nasarah Peter Dashe

There are moments in life when we feel overwhelmed by everything happening around us. Even though our faith remains strong, it still feels like we are losing the battle day by day.
This is where PRAISE comes in.

A Season of Shame and Mockery

There was a time in my life when it seemed as if anything I touched would spoil. Truly, it was a painful season. People mocked me. They even created a name out of my mistakes.

Whenever someone made a mistake, instead of saying,

“So and so made a mistake,”
they would say,
“So and so made a Peter.”

I had become the definition of error.
It was heartbreaking.
I prayed—again and again—but nothing changed.

I knew I was not a mistake, yet everything around me suggested otherwise.

The Turning Point: Praise Instead of Complaints

One day, I got tired of praying the same prayers while seeing no improvement.
So I switched to praise and worship.

Whenever I touched something and it broke…
Whenever they laughed at me…
Whenever I felt embarrassed…

—I would start singing praises quietly in my heart.

I didn’t know that this simple act was activating God’s hand over my life.

God Steps In

A week later, something unusual happened.

At my place of work, every skilled worker failed to show up that day—except me. My boss had no choice but to hand the assignment over to me, even though he feared I might spoil it.

But to everyone’s surprise, including mine, I delivered the job perfectly — far better than the boss himself.

He claimed it was just “luck.”
But I knew it was God.

Another time, a colleague was stuck with a difficult task. Hesitant but desperate, he called me for help. Despite his worries, I stepped in… and again, by God’s grace, finished the job flawlessly.

That was the day my boss began trusting me with important tasks — and each one I delivered excellently.

The God Who Shares His Glory With No One

This experience taught me a powerful lesson:

God does not share His glory with any man.

When you choose praise,
you declare that He alone is God,
and that without Him, you are nothing.

This is why King David was always quick to praise.
He understood that praise attracts God’s presence — and no wonder God called him,

“a man after My own heart.”

Praise Moves Heaven

In all situations, give God the glory.
If you have prayed and nothing seems to happen —
switch to praise.

Praise as if the answer has already arrived,
and watch heaven move on your behalf.

But remember:
Praise without Jesus is empty.
Make sure He is your Lord and Savior.

By praising God, you admit your weakness and acknowledge His strength. That is the posture that moves God.
