Abortion Is Equally Murder

Abortion is defined as the removal of a fetus from the womb before normal delivery in such a manner that causes the death of the baby. Whether it’s called voluntary abortion or therapeutic abortion, the fact remains — it ends a life God created.

The Bible reminds us that children are gifts from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). Every gift from above is meant to be valued, protected, and preserved — not destroyed.

A Real Story: NECO Examination and the Fear of Exposure

In 2022, just before NECO (National Examination Council) exams — one of Nigeria’s major school certificate exams — there was a young lady in my class. While waiting for the exam date, someone mentioned that pregnant girls would not be allowed to sit for the exam unless they were married.

Immediately, the girl burst out nervously:

“Jesus! I just hope I’m not pregnant.”

Her panic said it all — she had already eaten the forbidden fruit. Acting out of fear, she whispered to me:

“If I’m found pregnant, I will abort it. I can’t miss this exam.”

I questioned her:

“You knew you were about to write a major exam, and still went ahead to do what God forbids unmarried people from doing. Now that the consequence is pregnancy, the solution you see is murder?”

She argued back:

“If I abort it, at least I will save my future.”

But I warned her:

“What if this is the only child God ever intended to bless you with? You’d be rejecting a blessing, and committing murder too.”

She dismissed my words with “God forbid!” — yet she was already walking toward a path God clearly warns us against.

Two Sins in One Act

If you commit fornication and get pregnant, then seek abortion to hide the shame, you have committed two sins:

  1. Disobedience to God (outside-marriage sexual relationship).

  2. Murder (taking the innocent life of a baby who has done no wrong).

Do we have the right to kill what God created?
Will shame against man be held higher than obedience to God?

The Devil’s Strategy

Satan lures many into fornication and adultery. Then, to hide the evidence and avoid shame, they resort to abortion — not realizing that they are sinking deeper into destruction.

But the Bible already revealed his aim:

“The thief comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy.” — John 10:10

First, sin steals your peace.
Then, abortion kills the innocent.
Finally, guilt destroys your soul.

A Call To Rethink

If you’ve eaten the forbidden fruit and pregnancy results — keep the child. Don’t add murder to fornication.

Let the world judge you wrongly — it is better to suffer shame and be forgiven, than to hide sin and bear blood guilt. Remember:

Abortion is equal to murder. Don’t be deceived.
“He that killeth shall be killed.”
